A 22-year-old NEET aspirant preparing for the medical entrance examination in Ghaziabad died by suicide on Saturday, with police recovering a video recorded by him shortly before his death. The deceased, identified as Jatin Kumar, had been preparing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test in the Vijaynagar area and was appearing for the examination for the fifth time in 2026.

According to family members, Jatin was the only son of the family. His father, Rajesh Kumar, is a Food Inspector posted in Saharanpur. Relatives said they went to wake him up in the morning and found his body lying on the floor. A noose attached to the ceiling fan had broken.

Police recovered a one-minute video from Jatin's mobile phone, which was recorded at around midnight before his death. In the video, he showed the noose and said that his father had told him not to take stress. He stated that he was not under stress, but had become weary of everything and wanted to do something different.

According to another report by ABP, at least 14 cases of suicide linked to NEET aspirants have been reported across the country so far in 2026. Several of these incidents have emerged in the aftermath of the examination paper leak controversy.
