Fifth-Time NEET Aspirant Dies by Suicide in Ghaziabad, Video Recorded Before Death Recovered by Police
A 22-year-old NEET aspirant, Jatin Kumar, died by suicide in Ghaziabad after recording a video shortly before his death. Preparing for his fifth attempt in 2026, he was found by family members the next morning. Police recovered the video from his phone. More than 14 suicides linked to NEET aspirants have been reported this year.
According to family members, Jatin was the only son of the family. His father, Rajesh Kumar, is a Food Inspector posted in Saharanpur. Relatives said they went to wake him up in the morning and found his body lying on the floor. A noose attached to the ceiling fan had broken.
Police recovered a one-minute video from Jatin's mobile phone, which was recorded at around midnight before his death. In the video, he showed the noose and said that his father had told him not to take stress. He stated that he was not under stress, but had become weary of everything and wanted to do something different.
According to another report by ABP, at least 14 cases of suicide linked to NEET aspirants have been reported across the country so far in 2026. Several of these incidents have emerged in the aftermath of the examination paper leak controversy.
The latest death has once again drawn attention to the growing psychological pressure faced by competitive examination candidates, as a series of suicides connected to NEET continues to raise concerns across the country.
